Application Of Closed Cooling Tower In Blast Furnace Industry
Blast furnace cooling equipment (closed cooling tower, evaporative condenser) is an important part of the blast furnace body structure, which can play the following roles in the life of the furnace body:
(1) Protect the furnace shell. During normal production, the blast furnace shell can only work for a long time at a temperature lower than 80°C. More than 85% of the high-temperature heat emitted from the furnace is taken away by the cooling equipment, and only about 15% of the heat is lost through the furnace shell.
(2) Cooling and support for refractory materials. The surface temperature of the refractory material in the blast furnace is as high as 1500°C. If there is no cooling equipment, the refractory material will be eroded or worn within a short period of time. The cooling by the cooling equipment can improve the erosion resistance and anti-wear ability of the refractory material. The cooling equipment can also support the lining of the blast furnace and increase the stability of the masonry.
(3) Maintain a reasonable operating furnace type. Make the erosion inner profile line of the refractory material close to the operating furnace profile, which plays a good role in the reasonable distribution of the gas flow in the blast furnace and the forward flow of the charge.
(4) When most or all of the refractory material is eroded, the blast furnace production can be maintained by relying on the slag skin on the cooling equipment.
